Top 5 Beaches in El Nido Perfect for Road Trips

By: Lourdez May D. Cruz

After months of lockdown, it is time for us to travel and soak in the beach. Road trips are great to explore different destinations. It is a great chance to relax but it is also important to be cautious while travelling, wear a mask, wash and sanitize your hands, minimize interactions with other people, and always maintain distance from others.

1. Taraw Cliff Canopy Walk

Before you head off to the top 5 beaches, drink your morning drinks and visit the Taraw Cliff Canopy Walk.

It is an easy climb and perfect to climb at 8:00-9:00 am. The entrance fee is 350 pesos and it includes helmet, harness and a guide. Taraw Cliff in El Nido is the highest peak in town.

After spending at least 1-2 hours in Taraw Cliff Canopy Walk, eat your breakfast, pack up your swim wears, prepare your pack lunches and ready to go to your first beach destination.

2. Nacpan Beach

The trip from El Nido town to Nacpan Beach is about 45 minutes, and half an hour from Lio Airport. Nacpan beach is a cream-colored sand beach, clear blue water, a lot of coconut trees and is one of the beautiful and popular beaches in El Nido.

After 45 minutes of drive, I suggest to rent an available cottages at Nacpan Beach or just set up a picnic under a tree and prepare your lunch. Nacpan beach has a lot of instagrammable spots which will surely made your day!

3. Lio Beach Resort

Next stop Lio Beach!

Lio Beach is by the beach and mountains on the other side. You can enjoy unique shopping, dining and treat yourself to locally made handicrafts.

After 30 minutes of drive, you can spend an hour or two depending on your liking. But I suggest to take your time to explore the place. Just always look at the time because at the last beach destination it is best to experience the sunset there.

4. Vanilla Beach, Maremegmeg Beach and Las Cabañas Beach

There is no line to distinguish between Vanilla Beach, Maremegmeg Beach and Las Cabañas Beach, but it is okay to sit anywhere. The last years, the whole beach was just known as Las Cabañas Beach but eventually was split to 3 beaches. Vanilla Beach is the first and only strip mall in El Nido, Palawan. It is full of shops and restaurants that you’ll surely love. It is the iconic beachfront sunset so it is best to watch the sunset unwind and relax. And after that, you can shop and dine.

My experience in El Nido is amazing and I can say that, 4 days and 3 nights is not enough! Though within that time, I was able to explore a lot of islands and a lot of beaches. So if you are planning to visit El Nido, I suggest to take your time to visit as many destinations that you can. You can follow the road trip guide that I have mention and you can rent at the most reputable motorcycle rental in town which is Lakwatsero Motorcycles.
