Road Trip Attractions to Napsan Beach, Palawan

By: Lourdez May D. Cruz

Looking for a weekend road trip with your group? Too busy with work or school works and can’t afford to travel for too long? Continue reading and try these four destinations that will only take you a day to visit.

Napsan Beach is a west-coast beach and is one of the destinations you should try to visit in Palawan. Napsan Beach is 37.7 km from Puerto Princesa City. But instead of travelling directly from Puerto Princesa City to Napsan, I suggest to take the route to Narra then to Quezon and then to Napsan. Surely it will take more travel hours but the travel hours will be worth it because you will be able to stop over at some attractions and enjoy the scenic view on the way.

Best to leave Puerto Princesa City is at 4 in the morning because you will be spending a lot of time travelling and by travelling early you will have more time on each destinations. After an hour and a half you will pass by Narra, Palawan. Then by another hour and a half you will be at Quezon, Palawan. Then continue to travel and shortly after 30 or 40 minutes you’ll start seeing the west-coast beach view.

After another hour of travel, you will arrive at the first attraction which is the mini Siargao of Palawan at Aborlan, Apurawan Road. Fun fact it was called mini Siargao of Palawan because the view gives you a vibes like the one in Siargao where there are a lot of coconut trees beside the road. You can also stop by here and take some photos under the coconut trees beside the road.

Another hour of travel you will arrive at the second attraction which is the west-coast-view-deck, and you can also stop here and take a photo. This is also the only place where there is a signal, so you might want to take this chance to make some phone calls.

Another one to two hours of travel you can visit the third attraction which is the Berong Falls, Quezon, Palawan. It will take up to 30 minutes of hiking to get to the falls. This hike is best for younger tourist because the trail is difficult to hike, especially if the weather is rainy. The trail is muddy and slippery. But for someone who is adventurous this falls is perfect to go to.

After another 2-3 hours of travelling you will be at Napsan beach. There are some resorts, but you can just pick a spot under the tree, remove your shoes, listen to waves and enjoy the long beach view. The view is breathtaking, with clean blue ocean water, large waves perfect for surfing, and peaceful place because only few persons visits the place. You can also stay at Napsan Beach for hours, some even stays overnight and sleeps in a tent and campfire. The place can only be scary at night because there are no other people at the place, no lights, and no phone signal.

So if you are looking for a weekend road trip with a group. These destinations are perfect because you will be able to visit a lot of destinations in just one day. Of course you can skip the other attractions, but you are already there so why not take the chance and enjoy it. The trip can be so tiring but it will be worth it. Just don’t forget to maintain social distancing and always wear your facemasks and face shields when travelling with a group.
